District grounds crew recognized with Superintendent's Award for Excellence

February 20, 2019— The district's 10-member grounds crew worked hard last week, late into nights and early mornings, to remove snow and ice from school parking lots and sidewalks in preparation for students and school staff.

Just as they had all of our school lots ready on Sunday night, another storm rolled in during the early morning hours of Monday to again blanket the area and undo much of their work. The crew went right back to work, around the clock on Monday and Tuesday to again clear ice and snow from school parking lots and sidewalks.

Today, in appreciation of that hard work and commitment, Superintendent Dr. Damien Pattenaude surprised the crew with the Superintendent's award for Excellence.

We are appreciative of the many great support staff in the Renton School District who are committed to ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education and a great future.
