District Demographic Reports

One key measure for our schools is the proportion of our students who graduate within four years.

Our goal is to ensure that students from all our schools graduate and go on to college or career, regardless of income, race/ethnicity, special education status, or home language.

Here you can see the most recent Graduation Rates for each of our schools and demographic subgroups (note that data for graduation rates is a year delayed while data is finalized with the state). The charts are interactive with one another, so clicking on a school will filter to subgroups and vice versa.

Research has shown that transitioning into high school is a pivotal year. Students are considered on track if they have completed Algebra and have failed no more than one class.

Here you can see how the past three years’ ninth graders have performed at each of our schools, including the highest level of math they have attained and how many courses they failed. The chart showing data by school and the chart showing how different subgroups perform are interactive, so clicking on a bar will filter the other charts on the page.

Research has shown that students who are chronically absent, defined as being absent for 10% or more of the time, are much more likely to drop out and to be below grade level.

Our goal is to reduce the proportion of students who are chronically absent, regardless of income, race/ethnicity, special education status, or home language, to keep students in class learning.

Research has shown that students who are excluded from class either due to a suspension, expulsion, or an in-school suspension are less likely to be on grade level and are less likely to graduate.

Annual state tests give a snapshot of student performance and are taken for federal accountability. While it is only a snapshot, it is a strong indicator that helps us track whether our students will be college and career ready when they graduate.

Here you can see the proportion of students from selected grades who met standard in each subject on the most recent administration. Clicking on a section of the table will show how each school performed for the past 3 years along with the performance of various demographic groups.

Below you can see how student demographics have changed overtime in the Renton School District.  All data is from October first of a given year (this may not exactly reflect the information on the Washington State Report Card, since those proportions are from May first).  You can see the proportion of students who are Free and Reduced Lunch, English Language Learners, Special Education, or Section 504.  Additionally, you can see how the proportion of each race has changed over time.

The tables and graphs are generated with Tableau software, which currently has some limitations for users with screen readers.  Tableau is updating its software to be fully ADA compliant.
