Elementary Education
Renton School District has 16 elementary schools. All of our elementary schools serve students in kindergarten through 5th-grade with a core curriculum of reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and additional experiences in art, music, PE, and more.
The "Renton 10" includes Benson Hill, Cascade, Hazelwood, Honey Dew, Kennydale, Maplewood Heights, Renton Park, Sierra Heights, Talbot Hill, and Tiffany Park. Chief of Elementary Schools, John Schmitz, supports the Renton 10 elementary schools, as well as Meadow Crest Early Learning Center, which hosts our Inclusive Preschool and ECEAP programs.
The other six elementary schools comprise The Renton Innovation Zone (RIZ): Bryn Mawr, Campbell Hill, Highlands, Hilltop Heritage, Lakeridge, and Sartori. Hilltop Heritage is our newest school to open in Renton, and Sartori is our STEM elementary school. Students who reside in Renton boundaries, but outside of the Sartori service area, may attend if selected via a lottery. Chief of School Improvement, Jessica Granger, supports the RIZ elementary schools.
