Philosophy

Having our students be prepared to be active members of a global community, we as teachers know how important it is for students in Renton to acquire new languages.

Principals and Goals

Language teachers in the Renton School District use aspects of the ACTFL proficiency guidelines as the core of our standards.  We focus on the four areas of language learning; reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and use a variety of texts that strive to meet the interests of the students. Through our use of research-based methods of instruction, we make our classrooms active and engaging places for students to acquire languages.
