Renton School District CTE programs utilize innovative learning models to deliver curriculum that is relevant to current workplace demands and in line with industry standards. Strong partnerships between CTE staff, business community members, the City of Renton, college partners, and community-based organizations are essential to successful CTE programs guiding our future workforce.
Our goals are to help students:

Ways to be Involved
There are many ways our advisory members are involved in shaping educational programs, including:
- Attend evening meetings a few times a year to engage in conversations about recent student activities, technological advancements, and skills needed in incoming employees.
- Teacher resource for updating curriculum or course activities.
- Act as a mentor or guest speaker to inspire and guide students.
- Participate in classroom projects in your area of expertise.
- Chaperone field trips and/or judge competitions at events, such as DECA or FBLA.
- Host a worksite tour for a related class or a job shadow opportunity one hour a week for a student(s) for a specified number of weeks.
- Guide students in job application and interview skills, participate in mock interviews.
- Support career-related events, connect others in industry to share their stories and knowledge with students.
- Facilitate internship opportunities.
- After school club advisors, project specific support, or honored guest.
