Recently, each of Honey Dew’s third graders were given their own personal children’s dictionary to take home, compliments of the Renton Rotary Club. Students were thrilled to have this educational gift. Thank you, Renton Rotary Club, for your continued support of our Renton students!
Thank you parents/guardians for attending parent conferences; 90% of our students had parent/teacher conferences! Your involvement makes a difference for son or daughter. Please continue to stay in close communication with us because neither of us can do alone what we can do together. If you were unable to attend your conference in November, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher to arrange another time to meet. We look forward to continued contact with you throughout the year. We would also like to thank the teachers for their expertise in preparing report cards and planning meaningful conferences. Together with parents/guardians, we make a great team in supporting our students.
Honey Dew Elementary School increased its recycling rate from 25% to 45%. The school established a student Green Team made up of third through fifth grade students who gave compliments in the classroom and morning announcement "shout-outs" to those successfully recycling. The school kicked off lunch room recycling in early 2017. The Green Team hosted two events - a recycling awareness event and a school clean up day where the team picked up litter from the playground.
At Honey Dew we are a community of learners and leaders achieving excellence.
