Curriculum and Instruction

  • The primary purpose of the Division of Curriculum and Instruction in the Renton School District is to coordinate professional learning opportunities; ensure curriculum access and alignment and engage in cycles of continuous improvement.  We are responsible for providing leadership, support and coaching to teachers, general education staff, and building administrators to ensure high quality instruction and learning takes place in every classroom, every day.

     

    Mission:

    In support of the Renton School District's goals, the department of curriculum and instruction aids schools in providing high quality instruction for every child in every classroom everyday. The department of curriculum and instruction builds a culture of continuous learning and intellectual stretch, by serving as a growth agent in providing learning opportunities grounded in equity, with excellent delivery of services.

    The Department of Curriculum and Instruction nurtures equity-minded learning communities that persistently provide rigorous and authentic professional learning.  The department scaffolds adult learning and stretches staff mindset, beliefs, and practices through engaging in courageous conversations in brave spaces.
