H.O.M.E. High School for Grades 9 & 10
H.O.M.E. Program courses for students in Grades 9 & 10 provide the same scope and rigor as courses taken in the other Renton high schools. We offer a limited number of core classes for high school credit. Transcripts will be maintained for students in grades 9-10 who are registered in the Renton School District through the H.O.M.E. Program. Students planning to take middle or high school level math classes will need to take a pre-assessment to determine placement.
Running Start is an option for students aged 16 and up who are able to pass the Compass Test. Through Running Start, students may enroll at a community college and their classes count for both high school and college credits. Many H.O.M.E. Program students opt to complete their associates degree through Running Start, which then also earns them a Washington State high school diploma.
Transfer credits will be accepted from other accredited schools. We offer an independent study option for P.E. credit for 9th & 10th grade students. The student must be enrolled in the H.O.M.E. Program before beginning the work, and the plan must be approved by the Program Manager before you begin to log the hours. 90 hours = 0.5 credit per semester. Credits for home-based work done prior to enrolling in the program will only be accepted with an official transcript from an accredited institution.
