Students at Sierra Heights Elementary School have a unique opportunity to learn how to ride unicycles.
Unicycle riding is introduced in the 4th grade. Once a child has been introduced to unicycle riding, the child has the choice of learning to ride or not. Learning to ride provides students with a great opportunity to learn balance. It also builds a positive self esteem. Those learning to ride have several opportunities to "show their talents" by performing at assemblies and in parades.
If you have any questions about the unicycle or my P.E. program, please contact Mr. Jim Blundred at 425-204-4694.
Mr. Blundred is starting an after school Unicycling Program at Sierra Heights. During the month of January (starting January 11th) on Mondays from 3:35 to 4:15 PM, children will be able to practice their unicycling skills. Enrollment will be limited to 4th and 5th grades only. Only serious unicyclists will be allowed to participate. The following expectations must be adhered to in order for this activity to be successful:
*Parents will need to provide transportation home at 4:15 PM. No Exceptions!
*All unicycle safety rules must be followed
*If a child does not follow the safety rules or is not being picked up on time, this will result in dismissal from the program
He is extremely eager to start this after school activity with your child. If all goes well, the program may be extended. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Blundred at (425) 204- 4694. Please complete the permission slip and return it to Mr. Blundred. Be prepared for sudden cancellations.
