Degrees and Certifications:
In support of the LHS mission statement and School Improvement Plan Goals, staff members participate in professional development activities throughout the school year to enhance their professional practice and ensure that all students are afforded a safe and positive learning environment. In collaboration with the LHS Administrative Team, LHS staff members take an active role in the continuous improvement in teaching and learning by participation in the following school based groups:
The LHS Learning Leaders facilitate professional development in instructional practice to enhance student achievement (SIP Goal 1 – Each student will meet or exceed all state and district standards). Researched-based teaching strategies are examined and demonstrated, with the objective of implementation and the corresponding assessment of effectiveness as measured by student achievement.
The purpose of the LHS College & Career Readiness Committee is to support key transition knowledge and skills necessary to successfully navigate the transition to life beyond high school (SIP Goal 2 – Each student will graduate with the necessary skills and an appropriate plan to continue to post-secondary options.)
The LHS Equity Team continues its work in leading the development of a culturally competent and responsive school community. The Team’s goals are threefold, specific to racial equity: 1) Help increase our (staff’s) cultural competence through quality professional development; 2) Identify and address barriers to student success based on issues of equity; and 3) Create or identity additional supports and interventions to support our students (SIP Goal 3 – Each student will be valued, connected and achieving – no barriers).
These three groups form a three-pronged plan to provide your student with a positive and rewarding experience at Lindbergh High School.
