Dear Tiffany Park Families and Community:

The 2018-19 school year is off to a great start! While I have had the pleasure of meeting many students and families through the beginning of the year activities, I would like to further introduce myself.

I am originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area but began my teaching career in North Carolina. There I taught 2nd and 3rd grade. I then returned to a school outside of Columbus, Ohio where I worked for eight years. I had the pleasure of serving as a 3rd grade teacher, Dean of Students, and an Assistant Principal all within the same building. During the summer of 2014, I moved to Washington to begin my first role as an elementary school principal in Bellevue. I served there for four years before arriving at Tiffany Park this summer. As a resident of Renton, I consider myself blessed to be able to now serve the Tiffany Park and greater Renton communities.

I am passionate about working with diverse, yet tight knit communities like the one here at Tiffany Park. It is important to me that I learn from all of you about what makes Tiffany Park special. One thing that defines my work is that I genuinely  try to understand the people who make up our community. I view working with students as many different individuized approaches; there is no one size fits all, and this guides my actions. I also operate by a set of core values that include family, equity, making a difference, and acting with integrity.

Finally, on a personal level, I am close with my family (parents and three sisters). They are all back in the Cleveland, Ohio area but we continue to have a strong relationship despite the 2,400 miles between us. Thank goodness for Facetime and planes. I am also the proud uncle of eight nieces and nephews, who span from middle school to pre-school. I am an avid sports fan, and my Saturdays during the fall are dedicated to watching college football and cheering on my Ohio State Buckeyes! I love the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and trail running. Working in my yard is also an enjoyment of mine.

I appreciate the warm reception I have received thus far and I look forward to getting to know each and every child and parent on a personal level. I believe that strong school-family partnerships are critial to the success of our students. I am looking forward to working in collaboration with all of you to continue to build a school community where all members feel welcomed, excited about learning, and proud to be a Tiffany Park Tiger!
