Try taking a picture of something using your Chromebook camera.

Yes, I could take a picture!	This means there might be a problem with the app you are using. Work with your parent/guardian to check on the settings for the app.

You cannot print from a Chromebook.

If you would like to print something from your Chromebook:

• Save the item to your Google Drive or email it to yourself.
• Go to a computer with printing capabilities.
• Log into the RSD Login Portal to access your Google Drive or email.
• Print your document from there.

At school, your Chromebook will automatically connect to Wi-Fi. At home, you need to connect to Wi-Fi before you can log in to your Chromebook.

Steps and Illustrations
Step 1. Turn on your Chromebook. It will say "Network not Available." Select your home Wi-Fi or Hotspot name from the list of options.
Step 2. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network or hotspot. Click Connect.

When trying to access iReady from home, it is best to use a  laptop, desktop, or your district issued Chromebook.

• Please Note: personal iPads will try to push students to the iReady app, and students do not have direct login credentials for the app. 

Using one f the recommended devices listed above, follow the steps below to access iReady.

Your keyboard may have been set to another language! See the instructions below on how to check your keyboard and make changes. Please note: Depending on the type of Chromebook you have, your screen may look a little different from the images below, but the general steps are the same

Steps and Illustrations
Step 1. Look for a language symbol in the lower right-hand corner of your screen near the date and time. This will tell you what language your keyboard is in.
Step 2. Click on the symbol and it will open your language options. From here, you can access the Keyboard and change it back to English (US) if that is the preferred language. If you do not see English (US) or prefer another language, select the Settings Gear in the top right corner of the pop-up menu.
Step 3. From here, you can click on the language you would like to "enable" or use the Add input methods menu to select the appropriate language.
Step 4. Once you have chosen a language from the list it will appear as one of your language options. Click on the language to enable it. You should see the word "enabled" under the language you selected.

• Check to make sure the volume is turned up. 
• If the sound is still weak, try updating your Chromebook OS.
• If the sound still isn't at the level that you would like, try using a pair of ear pods with a microphone. This will significantly increase the sound quality.

No problem!  You can change the orientation.

Rotate Your Screen to the Correct Orientation
Press CTRL + SHIFT + Refresh to rotate your screen. You may need to do this multiple times to get it to the orientation you want.

If your screen is cracked, it's time to swap the device! Please submit a Help Desk Ticket.

Please be aware that fines for damage may apply. If you already purchased the Device Protection Plan (DPP) for the 2025-2026 school year, it will cover you during the summer months, as long as you have not already met the two incident limit. If you do not have coverage, consider purchasing the DPP.
