Facilities & Maintenance

The Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance Center (FOMC) supports approximately 14,000 students and staff in about 3 million square feet of facilities. Comprised of four district departments, FOMC is home to capital projects office, district energy management office, maintenance, and daily operations for Renton School District.
Maintenance Department
The maintenance and grounds teams are responsible for the preventative maintenance, repairs and ground upkeep of approximately 3 million square feet of buildings and fields spaces. The department consists of 1 director, 1 energy manager, 11 grounds technician, and 16 trade field technicians.
Custodial Department
The custodial team takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across approximately 3 million square feet of district facilities. Led by one department manager and supported by a dedicated team of 72 custodians, we work around the clock to ensure every classroom, office, and common space supports learning. Our commitment to safety, service, and excellence helps create the foundation for student and staff success.
By working together, FOMC strives to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for students and the community.
