Renton School District

Vendor Insurance Requirements

Because contracting services for the District is funded publicly, the utmost care and responsibility must be exercised in how risk is minimized. Holding high standards and accountability for our providers or contractors can results in positive, successful service outcomes for our students, families, staff, and buildings. Requesting our providers or contractors to carry some of the liability and risk protects public funds and promotes the District’s ongoing goals to maintain great service, excellence, and equity with our vendors.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENT

Prior to contracting work with the District, the provider or contractor, at its own cost shall will be required to show evidence by providing a Certificate of Insurance. The insurance policies shall be maintained through the duration of the contractual relationship with the District. Insurance limits and requirements will vary according to risk associated with the contracted service. Requirements include the Renton School District #403, its directors, officers and employees, 300 SW 7th Street, Renton WA 98057 be a certificate holder and added as additional insured with the following endorsement forms: Additional Insured for Ongoing Operations and Completed Operations, Waiver of Subrogation, and Primary and Non-Contributory. 

Providers or contractors must provide 30 days’ prior notice to the School District of cancellation, nonrenewal, or material alteration of the insurance.  All certificates must provide notice per the policy provisions.  Lapse of coverage or failure to furnish satisfactory evidence of insurance is cause for termination of any contracted agreement.
