We Love our volunteers

  • Please inquire in the Main Office and/or through our parent groups if you would like to be involved at LHS.

    Anyone, even a parent, who is coming into our schools who is not a child or RSD staff member must have a current (no more than 2 years old) background check on file in the volunteer office.

    Approved parent volunteers are eligible to help out at the school, chaperone field trips, etc. with their students and classes. Denied parent volunteers are still allowed to participate in educational activities with their child but cannot be used as chaperones and cannot have unsupervised access to any child other than their own at any time.

    Approved community volunteers who have had an orientation are eligible to help out at any school, chaperone field trips, etc. Denied community volunteers are not allowed to volunteer in any capacity.

    Parent and community volunteers who have not completed the process (orientation, thumbprint request, etc.) are ineligible to volunteer in any capacity until the process is complete. Our intention is not to discourage parent and community involvement! We just want to ensure that our kids are kept SAFE when in the care of the Renton School District.
