    World Language Test

    The deadline to sign up for the World Language Test is today, April 20th. If you can speak, read, and write in a language other than English, take the test on May 1st and earn up to 4 world language credits. See Mrs. Harris in the Counseling Office to sign up.

    ATHLETICS

    ATTENTION all girls interested in playing volleyball next fall! Come by Monday right after school to meet the new coach! Everyone should plan on being in the collaboratory by 2:10pm. If you have another athletic practice, please stop in quickly and then go to practice!! If you cannot make the meeting, stop by and leave your name with Ms. Olson in the main office.

    Hazen Baseball Senior Game will be today, April 20th at 4:00pm. Seniors and their family members should arrive before 3:30pm, as prior to the Varsity game, at about 3:30-3:45pm, we will announce our 2018 Hazen Baseball Seniors and family members. Everyone should bring a chair if you prefer to sit in one verses in the stands.

Once returned, you will be ready to meet with your school counselor the week of April 23rd.

    Tryout for the Hazen Drill Team!

    The team just returned from their state championship, where they were awarded 1st place and named the 2018 4A Military State Champions and 2nd place in Kick. Tryouts will be held April 24th-27th. Packets are available in the main office by the letterman jacket and due at tryouts. Come and join a hardworking and strong team for memories that you will never forget!

    Interested in participating in the easiest fundraiser ever? Join the senior class for the snapraise informational meeting today in the lecture hall. To help out, all you have to do is send 20 emails, texts or just share about our fundraiser on social media. Please come to the meeting tomorrow if you are interested in helping out as you will need to sign up there. Let Kevin know if you cannot make it, but want to help or if you have any questions.

    Wallace's Word of the Week is lethargic

    An adjective meaning tired and slow. Example: I always feel lethargic on the first Monday after a break. WOW!

    It’s the beginning of 4th quarter, so lunches switch again!

    If your 4th period is ESL, Health & Fitness, Math, FASCE, Science, or Tech Ed (including Goodboy, Madsen, and Clark) you have First Lunch. Business Ed, Social Studies, World Languages, Language Arts, Special Programs, and Music have Second Lunch.

    The tennis team defeated Kent Meridian yesterday in a close 3-2 match. Women of the match were Lillian Nguy and Ruthie Fenske who won a tough three-setter to get the win. The JV won 4-1. Nice job, girls!

    Tennis Team Congratulations on their 4-1 win over Mt. Rainier yesterday. The #1 and #2 doubles teams of Trista and Marie and Jeanise and Ruthie had come from behind wins to secure the win. Singles players Sophia and Vanessa rolled over their opponents. The Highlanders take on Kent Meridian at home today. The JV match was rescheduled.

    A noun meaning "distress or embarrassment at having failed or been humiliated." Ex: He wasn't invited to the party, much to his chagrin. WOW!

    ASB President Election

    Due to the tie in last Friday’s ASB President election, there will be a runoff between Charlotte Brock-Alexander and Brandon Chin. You can vote during your lunch. Please follow the link on the Hazen website to vote. If you need to use a computer to vote, there will be a COW in the lower commons for you to use during lunch. Voting will officially close after 2nd lunch ends.

    HELP will be in Ms. Panerio’s room #237 on Wednesday afternoon, not in the library

    It will be somewhat limited in scope in regards to the number of students that can fit in the room. Computers only will be available in the library for use on Wednesday afterschool. No tables will be available in the library for that HELP session only.

    Are you interested in running for class office?

    Next month, current freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes will have the opportunity to elect a class President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer for the upcoming school year. If you see yourself in one of those position, you must attend one of the interest meetings that are coming up next week. Meeting times are: today at 2:15pm and Tuesday, April 3 at 6:45am or 2:15pm. Meetings will take place in Rusty’s room, 103 on both days. See you there!
