• The Renton School District practices progressive discipline except in cases deemed as exceptional misconduct. Exceptional misconduct is defined as misconduct other than absenteeism that is frequent in occurrence, or is serious in nature, and/or is disruptive to the operation of the school. Notification of law enforcement will be considered in exceptional misconduct cases. In some circumstances, a student will be emergency expelled as a first response pending review. All discipline applies to misconduct during the school day, at school sponsored activities, while on school grounds, or on school buses or vehicles provided by the district.
