    Definition

    Relationships in which each person promotes and works toward the overall well-being of others through kindness and collaboration.

    Mission

    -We provide opportunities to build relationships with one another as a staff.
    -We celebrate staff work and accomplishments.
    -We have positive interactions with students, staff, and guests.
    -We replace judgement with curiosity and assume positive intent.
    -We model our best self to our students, families, and colleagues.
    -We address concerns directly with one another while assuming positive intent.

    Whole Child

    Definition

    The whole child includes the social, emotional, academic, and physical needs of the child.

    Mission

    -We provide opportunities for social emotional learning and personal growth for all students.
    -We offer a variety of classes that meet the needs and interests of our students.
    -We provide activities after school that meets the needs and interests of our students.
    -We identify and address students’ social/emotional/physical needs.
    -We provide social emotional curriculum and activities that addresses essential issues that face our students.

    Supportive Learning Environment

    Definition

    A supportive learning environment is one in which a child feels safe, secure, challenged, and accepted in order to learn and grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

    Mission

    -We provide engaging, culturally relevant instruction bell-to-bell.
    -We re-teach to support students.
    -We seek out resources and collaborate to support student achievement.
    -We communicate our expectations orally and in written language.
    -We will establish, re-teach, and enforce the PBIS behavior matrix building-wide.
    -We manage Tier 1/Discretionary behaviors in the classroom.
    -We maintain a positive presence in the hallways.
    -We maintain a safe, clean, and positive building.

    Skills

    Definition

    Skills are the necessary strategies/tools needed to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically as a lifelong learner.

    -We support all students and challenge them to take risks.
    -We offer a variety of classes that meet the needs and interests of our students.
    -We provide opportunities for students to collaborate in the classroom.
    -We provide strategies for students to be successful socially, academically, emotionally, and physically.
    -We encourage students to be advocates for themselves.
