    • Instrumental in having the Renton School District selected as one of five districts in Washington State, and one of 130 school districts nationwide, to receive the College Board’s Gaston Caperton 2015 Opportunity Honor Roll Award for Excelling in Creating Opportunities for Traditionally Underrepresented Students. The award recognized the district’s efforts to:
      • increase by 196% the number of students taking the SAT;
      • increase by 85% the number of students earning a score of 1550 or more on the SAT; and
      • increase by 53% the number of students who sent their SAT scores to at least four colleges.

    • Implemented the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program at Renton High School (recognized by the US Department of Education’s Office of Innovation, Puget Sound Educational Service District, and District Administration Magazine for increased equity and access to rigorous coursework). More than 85% of Renton High School juniors enrolled in at least one IB course.)
