The District Receives "Excellence in Operations and Maintenance Award"

At Puget Sound Energy’s 2015 annual Resource Conservation Management meeting, the Renton School District received the coveted “Excellence in Operations and Maintenance Award”.  This award recognizes the efforts to reduce operating and maintenance costs, which over the past six years have resulted in avoiding at least 1.3 million dollars in expenditures!

There were many reasons the district earned this award; we upgraded building envelopes, upgraded mechanical equipment, installed new interior and exterior lighting, upgraded energy management controls, and completed an extensive district-wide retro-commissioning effort.

The Excellence in Operations and Maintenance Award runners-up were: the State Capitol Campus, and Western Washington University!

This award would not have been possible without the leadership of Executive Director of Facilities R. Stracke, Maintenance and Operations Manager J. Lamborn, and the committed efforts of the Facilities, Operations and Maintenance Center (FOMC) staff. This is just another example of the District Energy Management Office's commitment to be a local, state and national leader in resource conservation management.
