Dads Of Great Students (WATCH D.O.G.S.) is an innovative program of the National Center for Fathering. This program focuses on improving education in our nation's schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father figures for a two fold purpose:

  • To provide a positive and active male role-model for students during their school day, and

  • To provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security

Who are WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students)?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCHD.O.G.S. school.  During the day, WatchDOGS may work  with students, play at recess, help with lunch , watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, and mentor students as well.  On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCHD.O.G.S. t-shirt with a name tag identifying them as WatchDOGS.

All volunteers will have to complete a WSP/Renton School District clearance form.
