  • As the semester comes to an end, please keep in mind that many classes will require all late and missing work to be turned in before the end of the semester (January 26). Please be sure to check your (or your student's) grades and communicate with your (or your student's) teachers ahead of time.


    First Semester Finals will be January 24-26. The daily schedule for finals week is below.

    Monday January 23 - regular school day
    Tuesday January 24 - 1st and 2nd pd finals
    Wednesday January 25 - 3rd and 4th pd finals
    Thursday January 26 - 5th and 6th pd finals
    Friday January 27 - no school, teacher work day.

    Bell Schedule for Finals Days:
    9:25 - first bell
    9:30-9:50 - advisory
    9:55-11:35 Final period
    11:35-12:15 - lunch
    12:20-2:03 Final period

    Buses will run on a late start schedule on the 24th, 25th and 26th.

    Congratulations to our School Resource officer, Renton Police Officer Thaddeus Kerkhoff, who won the Macy's Star in Your Community Award! We are proud of Officer Kerkhoff and the strong relationships he is building with our students, staff, and community.  


    Homework Help Center (HHC) is open from 2:15-3:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday unless otherwise specified. Students use HHC for studying, completing assignments, and for tutoring/assistance from content teachers who staff it. We also have a volunteer who helps out with all levels of math.

    Each year the UW Seattle Black Student Union acknowledges 10 high-achieving Black high school seniors for community and/or school involvement, academic excellence and exhibiting overall Black excellence. The selected 10 seniors will be honored at a formal celebration, get an opportunity to meet with students, learn more about being black at UW, and more! You can nominate yourself! Applications are due by January 21. Details available in the Career Center. (N Fulmer, 1/20)

    The first annual Interhigh School District Social will be held on Thursday, January 26th, the last day of finals, at Hazen High School, from 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm. This event is open to all Renton School District high school students. There will be a dance, movies, video games, and an open gym. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 11th, and will be $5 with ASB and $7 without, until January 18th, when the price will go up. Get your tickets during lunch or after school! (1/20)

    Earn two hours volunteering on Saturday January 21st from 10am to Noon at Skyway Park, hauling and spreading mulch to protect new plants at an event sponsored by the West Hill and King County Parks. All ages and skill levels welcome. All tools, gloves & instruction will be provided. You must RSVP. For details on how to RSVP visit the Career Center. (N Fulmer, 1/20)

    Hey students and staff! Want to be a part of a great cause? Students Daley Krantz, Ronzell Danao, and Kayla Apostol are hosting a Stuffed Animal Drive right here at Renton High. These stuffed animals will be donated to local police departments for children in emergencies. Any new or gently used stuffed animals will be accepted and should be donated to Ms. DiAsio’s room 164 until January 20th. Thank you! (J DiAsio, 1/20)

    The Skyway and Downtown Renton libraries have a volunteer teen bank that you can sign up for online. The library will follow-up with you regarding volunteer opportunities that may interest you. For details on how to sign-up visit the Career Center. (N Fulmer, 1/26)

    Seniors – your senior photos and quotes are due no later than January 26th. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please email your photo and quote to rentonhighyearbook@gmail.com.     Have you ever considered the impact that a teacher, coach, or counselor makes on students? Wondered what you are going to do with your great education once you finish high school? Thought about getting 5 college credits while taking a class in high school? Thought about earning your volunteer service hours while you intern at local elementary and middle schools? Wanted to take one of Mrs. Smith’s classes? Now is your chance! The Teacher Academy students and Mrs. Smith are having an informational meeting about all of these topics during Advisory on Thursday, 2/2, in the Career Center.
