  • Thank you,

To all of the fathers and other men who joined Mrs. Pitts for the WatchD.O.G.S Pizza and information night.  We loved hearing how excited you all are to make a difference here at Dimmitt for all of our students.  Please remember to share the informtion with people you know who may want to be part of this team.  Be sure to stop by for conferences this week and sign up for your day as a DMS WatchDOG!

Remember before you can volunteer you must complete a WSP/Renton School District Clearance form.

  • WATCH D.O.G.S.

    WATCHDOG

Dads Of Great Students (WATCH D.O.G.S.) is an innovative program of the National Center for Fathering. This program focuses on improving education in our nation's schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father figures for a two fold purpose:

    • To provide a positive and active male role-model for students during their school day, and

    • To provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security

Who are WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students)?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCHD.O.G.S. school.  During the day, WatchDOGS may work  with students, play at recess, help with lunch , watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, and mentor students as well.  On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCHD.O.G.S. t-shirt with a name tag identifying them as WatchDOGS.

All volunteers will have to complete a WSP/Renton School District clearance form.

A WORD FROM PRINCIPAL PITTS

  • Winter Message

We've transitioned from summer to fall in a blink of an eye, leaving us to collectively ask, "Where does the time go?"  Dimmitt's exemplary and dedicated staff deserves recognition as do all of youThank you, parents/guardians, for your involvement in yur children's education.  Together, we make quite an impressive team!!

In this season of Generosity, I am reminded that it takes many individuals working together to make a school run smoothly.  I am grateful for the extraordinary people at Dimmitt who dedicate each day to helping children ~ Our support staff, the office and cafeteria staff, all of our para-educatiors, custodians and bus drivers~ specialists, nurses, speech and occupational therapists ~ teachers who spend countless hours discussing and reflecting ~ guest teachers who fill in when they are needed ~ to parents who support and connect with the school ~ and to our students who give us their trust and strive to be the best they can be.  They are our inspiration!  I look forward to seeing everyone through this next quarter of learning.

We look forward to seeing you at Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for Monday, November 21st, from 12:00 noon - 2:30pm and Tuesday, November 22nd, from 12:00pm-4::00pm and 5:00pm-6:30pm.

Thak you for entrusting us with your beautiful children.  We value your support.
