The Renton School District offers a Traffic Safety course that follows the Washington State Traffic Safety Education Curriculum Resource Guide designed by the Washington State Traffic and Safety Education Association in 1995.
This course involves 30 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours in the vehicle. Emphasis is placed on safe, efficient and economical use of the automobile through development of desirable habits and attitudes.
Upon successful completion of the course a student will earn .25 credit toward meeting graduation requirements for the Renton School District.
All classes are held at Sartori Education Center at 315 Garden Avenue North in downtown Renton (directions) and students must provide their own transportation to class.
Acceptance into the program is contingent upon completion of registration and payment in full of the $400 fee. Registration forms are available at each of the five Renton District high schools or access the current registration information here.
