Career and Life Skills Education

Working Together to Prepare Students for the 13th Year...

The Renton School District strongly believes that career exploration, career planning, and high school transitional activities are necessary components of a comprehensive educational program. It is our goal to provide a variety of opportunities that support student learning for all students.

The Career and Life Skills Education program challenges students to develop academic, technical and personal skills through relevant and integrated learning experiences. Students can find courses in broad areas of interest called Pathways, including:

  • Arts & Communication
  • Business & Marketing
  • Health & Human Services
  • Science & Natural Resources
  • Technology & Engineering

Our goal is to help students:

  • identify their strengths
  • explore a variety of career options
  • connect instructional activities to areas of interest and the business community at large
  • prepare for education beyond high school, whether it be university, community/technical college, military, or an apprenticeship.
